In a classic crossroads battle, Canadians Benjamin Alvarez and Jaye Byard will clash for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Continental (North America) Heavyweight title on February 3 in Enoch, Alberta.

The fight headlines a show at the Enoch Community Centre, promoted by former UBO World Light Heavyweight champion Ryan Ford, and his Real Deal Promotions.

Undefeated “The Alpha” Alvarez (4-0, 4 KOs) is the younger up-and-comer, while Byard (6-4, 6 KOs) is more experienced in the pro game, but both are fighting to take their career to the next level.

And with all victories between them coming inside the distance, it could be a fire-fight from the start.

For Alvarez, born in Chile, it is his first crack at a title in a start-stop pro career which began in 2020. Against Byard he will be looking to make up for lost time.

Southpaw Byard, remarkable coming off six straight victories after losing his first four bouts, has won Western and Eastern Canadian titles, and faced the better opposition.

The potentially explosive Heavyweight encounter will be preceded by a strong undercard consisting of both boxing and kick-boxing match-ups.
