Morgan
(8-0, 7 KOs), from Tampa, Florida, became UBO
world champion last March when she stopped Lira
Huyke in three rounds. She retained the title
two months later, blowing out undefeated Angi
Romero in the first round.
Now she
will face probably her biggest test to date in
35-year-old Colombian Silgado
(21-17-4, 16 KOs), who has been a pro for
almost twelve years, faced the best in the world
and challenged for no less than eight world
championships.
Although
she has still not managed to win a world title,
she has been able to come back every time and
put herself in position for another shot, this
time at Lightweight against one of the hardest
punchers in the division.

Silgado has
been the ten-round distance eight times in her
career, while Morgan has so far never gone past
four rounds. If the American is not able to end
the fight early, it will be interesting to see how
the experience of Silgado will play a part in the
latter rounds.
The Morgan
vs. Silgado UBO world Lightweight title fight will
headline a card promoted by One One Six Boxing
Promotions at The Venue at Coosa Landing in
Gadsden, Alabama.
