Following a high-paced and very competitive battle against undefeated Brandon Borg, Eduardo Giustini emerged victorious and the new Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) European Heavyweight champion on Sunday night, December 11.

On a card promoted by Rosanna Conti Cavini at the Palazzetto Dello Sport in Manciano, Italy, “Dado” Giustini and Malta´s Borg started the fight relatively slow before picking up the action considerably from the second round on.

Borg was mostly the aggressor, while Giustini counter-punched from his southpaw-stance before going on the offensive himself and making it a thoroughly entertaining bout between two confident boxers who had come to win.

The game visitor never stopped trying, but Giustini, who entered the fights as the reigning Italian champion, displayed a better punch-variety and landed the cleaner shots.

Halfway through it was still anybody's fight, but Giustini appeared to have the better engine and pulled away in the second half.

Judges Alessandro Lo Sorcio and Taik Zaini both scored it 97-93, while judge Nicola Parrino had it slightly closer at 97-94.

The new UBO European Heavyweight champion improved his professional record to 14-2 (5). Borg, with his head held high, loses for the first time and goes to 10-1 (3).
