DECEMBER 5 / BY UBO PRESS OFFICER

UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

It will be a classic crossroads battle between the seasoned veteran and the upcoming hope, when the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) European Welterweight title finds a new owner on December 18 in Italy.

In his home-town Bagheria, on the island of Sicily, Giovanni D´Antoni (14-10-3, 1 KO) takes on undefeated fellow countryman Joshua Riccardo (5-0, 2 KOs) in the main event of a show promoted by Giordano Boxing Club.

For 33-year-old D´Antoni, riding a three-fight winning streak, it will be a chance to win his first title, after taking on all comers in a pro career that started in 2010. If victorious, he finally elevates his career to the next level.

Joshua Riccardo (25), from Ladispoli near Rome, is also fighting for his first title, but he is at a much different stage. While a highly praised prospect, he is by far entering his biggest test to date and doing so in his opponents back-yard.

Should Riccardo be able to defeat the much more experienced D´Antoni, and become UBO European champion in only his sixth bout, it should catapult his progress in the paid ranks.

Both men are taking significant risk in facing each-other, which makes it a very interesting encounter, and the winner will be in a much better position.
