Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental Super Welterweight champion Francesco Lezzi will make his first title-defense on November 3.

Lezzi will take on southpaw challenger Mirko Marchetti (8-2) in an all-Italian affair at the Pala Melfi in Brindisi.

33-year-old Lezzi (16-21-3, 3 KOs) won the UBO title last May with a unanimous decision over another compatriot, Valerio Mazzulla.

A former IBF Youth World champion, “Il Pugile Viaggiatore” (the travelling boxer) has put a period of journeyman-life behind him, and is undefeated in his last four outings.

In Marchetti (34), from Cisterna, Lazio, he will be in with an opponent full of confidence, riding a six-fight winning streak.

The intriguing match-up will headline a show promoted by Lezzi Boxing Team Event Promotion.
