Ukraine
has some of the very best boxers in the world,
including Heavyweight world champion Oleksandr
Usyk and former multiple-weight world champion
Vasyl Lomachenko, but it also has some of the
best up-and-comers in the sport.
One of
them is Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO)
International Welterweight titlist Dmytro Zubko,
a 26-year-old from Zaporozhye with a 7-0 (4)
professional record.
Zubko
turned professional in December of 2020, and
fought five times in 2021. His fifth fight of
that year, was the UBO title-winning
fourth-round stoppage of Achiko Odikadze
(23-18-1) on December 8 in Kiev, only a couple
of months before the war broke out.
