UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

Even though their country is going through a horrible period, Ukrainian athletes continue to hold their head high and represent with honour and pride all over the world.

Ukraine has some of the very best boxers in the world, including Heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk and former multiple-weight world champion Vasyl Lomachenko, but it also has some of the best up-and-comers in the sport.

One of them is Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International Welterweight titlist Dmytro Zubko, a 26-year-old from Zaporozhye with a 7-0 (4) professional record.

Zubko turned professional in December of 2020, and fought five times in 2021. His fifth fight of that year, was the UBO title-winning fourth-round stoppage of Achiko Odikadze (23-18-1) on December 8 in Kiev, only a couple of months before the war broke out.

Since then he has managed to stay busy with a fight in Turkey, as he defeated local man Enes Refik Ciftci (6-1) by unanimous decision this past June in Istanbul.

The circumstances makes steady activity hard for Ukrainian boxers, but hopefully things will get better soon and Zubko, and all his fellow Ukrainians, can get back to normal life and fulfil his great potential.

If given the opportunity, this young man has the talent to go a very long way!
