"Spartan" Morello Headlines In UBO Title Fight In Milan

Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) championship boxing returns to Italy on July 2, when Dario Morello headlines a card in Carugate, Milan, promoted by Testudo Boxe.

 
 

“Spartan” Morello (28) will face Dutch hard-man Melvin Wassing (30) for the vacant UBO International Middleweight title.

A former Italian national and WBO Global Welterweight titlist, Morello (18-1, 2 KOs) is looking to win his fourth straight since losing the WBO belt in an upset to Brit Luther Clay in September of 2019.

Wassing (11-10-4, 3 KOs) is returning to a more natural weight, after a period of boxing at above Middleweight, with mixed results.

He has won his last two, including a land-slide decision over 7-1 Frenchman Loris Barberio this past May, so Wassing is clearly a more capable boxer than his mediocre statistics suggest.


 
 

Morello must be considered a healthy favourite as he aims to gain back the momentum he lost against Clay in his only defeat.

But Wassing will be highly motivated, and see this as his biggest opportunity to date, fighting in his first professional title fight.
