UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

Two battle-tested warriors gets an opportunity to become a champion on Saturday May 28 at the TJ Tatran Bohunice in Brno, Czech Republic.

Local boxer Michal Ryba will take on Giorgi Abramishvili from Georgia for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) East Europe Light Heavyweight title.

The records may not be great, but both men have more than paid their dues in the ring, taking on all comers, often on short notice, and now one of them, barring a draw, will finally get to enjoy the fruits of his labour.

Ryba is 8-9-1 (7) since turning pro in 2018, while Abramishvili has exactly twice as many fights and spots a 14-21-1 (4) ledger. But don't be fooled by the numbers, both men fight hard and are better than the records suggest.

In his most recent bout, Ryba lost a razor-thin majority decision to former UBO International titlist Jozef Jurko, after drawing with Jurko three months earlier.

Abramishvili, the younger man by one year at 27, has boxed in nine different countries as a pro, so going to the Czech Republic to face Ryba will hardly give him sleepless nights.

Records be damned, this is a 50/50 fight and will almost surely be a barn-burner.
