Italian Light Heavyweight Giovanni “El Mamba” Carpentieri is set to fight for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International title on March 27 at Palasantoro in his home-town of Rome.

Carpentieri (12-4-3, 3 KOs) will face compatriot Francesco Castellano (6-3-1, 0 KOs) in the main event of a show promoted by MG Boxing.

Both men are game and tough, but neither are big punchers, so it shapes up to be an action-packed encounter.

The local favourite turned professional as a Middleweight in December of 2014 in Australia, and had his first four paid outings “down under”.

While he won his debut, he went 0-3-1 in his next four after that, but since 2017 the now 32-year-old has gone 11-1-2, only losing to undefeated Canadian Lexson Mathieu in Quebec in 2019.

Now he is ready for his careers first title bout against Castellano, who is also entering his first championship-opportunity and will be motivated to make a breakthrough in his own career.
