FIGHT POSTPONED / NEW DATE APRIL 11! Halima Vunjabei, 9-5-1 (5), will take on fellow Tanzanian Zulfa Macho Yusufu, 4-0 (0), on March 27 in Dar Es Salaam for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Female World Super Flyweight title.

This is a rematch which has been over seven years in the making, as they made their professional debuts against each other in 2014. Back then, Macho Yusufu prevailed by majority decision after four close rounds.

Soon after, the winner seemingly retired from the sport, while Vunjabei went on to win and defend the UBO International title at Light Flyweight, and challenge for the WBF World championship in France, losing on points to Anne Sophie Da Costa.

But in 2020 Macho Yusufu, still only twenty-five, made a comeback, and has since won two fights convincingly, defeating former world title-challenger Flora Machela and Zambian prospect Alice Mbewe.

She now gets a major opportunity to make up for lost time in a second go-around with Vunjabei, also twenty-five years old, for the UBO world title.

Macho Yusufu will be confident she can prevail again, while Vunjabei is eager to get revenge. Time will tell who is crowned UBO world champion on March 27.
