Barsan, from
Timisoara in Romania but based in Leipzig,
Germany, took on local man Lars Burry in front
of a decent crowd, considering the Covid-19
restrictions, in one of the featured attractions
of a nine-bout card promoted by Elite Boxing
Promotion.
Having
spent most of his career on the road, fighting
out of the away-corner, Barsan was undaunted by
the surroundings, and took control from the
first bell, winning the first two rounds before
stopping Burry in round three.
This was
the third straight victory for Barsan, who at
thirty years of age is trying to escape
journeyman-status and has entered a new stage of
his career with proper training and backing, and
it shows that numbers on a record can be very
deceiving.

The new
UBO Baltic Super Middleweight Champion improved
his professional record to 6-17 (4), while
20-year-old Burry drops to 6-6 (3).
With
victory in his first championship fight, exactly
six years after me made his professional debut
on September 26, 2014, Barsan could now be in
line to challenge for the UBO International
title in the not too distant future.
