On Saturday March 30 at the luxurious Pullman Hotel in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) championship double-header was brought to the masses.

The number one of Congolese National Police, General Amuli Bahigwa, asked and obtained the patronage of his Excellency the president of the D.R.C., Mr. Felix Antoine Tshilombo Tshisekedi, to allow that officers Maroy Sadiki, the UBO International Cruiserweight Champion, and Rocky Kaleng, the UBO International Heavyweight Champion, defend their respective titles.

Maroy Sadiki, nicknamed “The Buffalo”, improved his excellent record to 16-2-1 (8), by scoring a knockout in round seven over Belgian challenger Michael Pareo (6-7-1, 2 KOs), boxing brilliantly and earning the right to challenge for the UBO Inter-Continental title.

Rocky Kaleng, now 10-3-1 (5), remains champion, but had to settle for a draw against another Belgian in Amine Bouchetta (7-3, 0 KOs). It was the second title-defense for Kaleng, who is also the reigning UBO All-Africa Champion.

The show was officially promoted by General David-Alain Nzila, assisted by Mukadi Manda, and had several high quality undercard bouts of high quality preceding the two featured attractions. Matchmaker was Mr. Garro Nanikian, and supervisor was UBO West & Central Africa Representative Mr. Jean-Claude Kaninda.
