Salimu Jengo relinquished his Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International Super Featherweight title to contest the vacant UBO International Lightweight crown on Saturday (October 20) at Muheza Stadium in Muheza, Tanzania.

Jengo, who had won the Super Featherweight title back in March and since challenged for the WBF World Lightweight title, fought experienced former world title-challenger, and compatriot, Anthony Mathias, and delivered a convincing performance.

Flooring Mathias three times in the very first round, 23-year-old Jengo from Tanga prompted referee Anthony Ruta to stop the fight after the last knock-down, Mathias completely out-gunned and overwhelmed.

Now a two-time, two-division UBO International Champion, Salimu Jengo improved his professional record to 11-2 (7). Anthony Mathias (39), probably forced to realize that his career has seen better days, falls to 32-29-6 (18).

The fight was promoted by Mwazoa Promotions.
