UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

Hungarian Kristof Mate won the biggest fight of his life on Sunday (February 25), and took home the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental Cruiserweight title.

23-year-old Mate beat former UBO International Light Heavyweight Champion Erik Nazaryan from Belgium by sixth round technical decision at the Karoli Gaspar University Sporthall in Budapest.

Nazaryan, the much more experienced of the two, came out strong and appeared to win the first two rounds, but from the third round Mate started to take over.

In round six a clash of heads caused a deep cut over the left eye of Nazaryan, and the doctor advised that the fight be stopped.

Winning his fourth straight fight, Kristof Mate improved his record to 7-6 (4). Erik Nazaryan (33) falls to 24-20-4 (18).

The fight was promoted by Tibor Feja and his Fight Night Show Promotions.
