UBO - Universal Boxing Organization™

The vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental Cruiserweight title will be up for grabs when Belgiums Erik Nazaryan and local man Kristof Mate square off in Budapest, Hungary on Sunday February 25.

The fight will headline a seven-bout card at the Karoli Gaspar University Sportshall promoted by Tibor Feja and his Fight Night Show Promotions.

Nazaryan is a former UBO International Light Heavyweight Champion, a title he won back in October of 2016 by defeating another Hungarian, Balazs Horvath, in Brugge.

The 33-year-old brings a record of 24-19-4 (18), having won sixteen of his last nineteen bouts. He has previously boxed twice in Hungary, with stoppage victories on both occasions.

Kristof Mate has home-advantage, but must be considered a healthy underdog. Ten years younger at 23, he has been a pro for almost four years but only boxed twelve times in that period, going 6-6 (4).

Undefeated on home soil, Mate has won his last three outings, two of them inside the distance, so should be confident going in to what will be his biggest fight to date.
