December 4, 2009 / BY UBO PRESS OFFICER

An interesting battle of punchers for the Vacant Universal Boxing Organization Intercontinental super middleweight title is set for December 19 at the Vodafone Arena in Suva, Fiji. The new champion will be crowned after a showdown between Fijian Zulfikar Joy Ali and Ghanaian Joseph Kwadjo.

Zulfikar Joy Ali is an experienced pugilist with a 29-8-6 (24) record, and a former holder of Fijian national titles in an astonishing six weight classes. He is also a former Oceania Boxing Association champion in two weight classes, and a former PABA champion.

24-year old Kwadjo, a Samoan-based Ghanaian, brings an impressive 12-1 (9) record, and has not lost since his professional debut back in 2003. This will be his first title fight, and whoever wins the UBO belt will be a worthy champion.

Promoter will be Sakaraia Ve Jr. and his Golden Boy Boxing Promotion.
