UBO Intercontinental middleweight champion
Francis Cheka will make the second defence
of his title on December 19 at Uhuru Stadium
in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.
Cheka, 18-6-1 (12), will fight massively
experienced Argentinean Enrique Areco,
43-15-7 (13), in what is sure to be a big
event promoted by Prime Time Promotion.
The East African won the title last year,
stopping fellow countryman Hassan Matumla,
and has since defended it with a blow-out of
Ramil Nadirov from Azerbaijan.
In Areco he
will surely face a stern challenge.
Areco,
nicknamed “El Zurdo”
(“lefty”) due to his southpaw style,
is a former WBC Mundo Hispano middleweight
champion and former Argentinean and WBO
Latino light middleweight titlist.
He made four successful defences of the WBO
title before loosing a spirited challenge
against that organizations world champion,
Harry Simon, in the tenth round.
