French-based Cameroonian Hamza Issa (15-6-4) will return
to his native country and attempt to capture the vacant
UBO world welterweight title at the Ahmadou Ahidjo
Stadium in Yaounde on July 4.
Opponent for Issa will be experienced Frenchman Fredric
Tripp (25-16) who previously held French and IBF
titles. Issa is himself a former title-holder, as he
once reigned as WBF Intercontinental and world champion.
The Universal Boxing Organization is proud to now make
its mark in yet another country, and look forward to the
great hospitality of the people of Cameroon.
In other UBO news, it’s been
decided that the International middleweight title fight
between Pradeep Singh of India and
Vanuatu’s Iau Kamisak is
postponed from its original date of June 27 until a yet
to be determined date in August.
