Risum Boxing announced today that it will be Tanzanian
banger Obote Ameme (36-18-2, 29 KOs) in the opposite
corner of Kim Poulsen on June 19 in Horsens, Denmark.
Nicknamed “The Thunder”, the 30-year-old African puncher
stopped his last two opponents inside the distance, and
will surely be looking to do the same to his Danish
rival, and bring the UBO Intercontinental lightweight
title back to Dar Es Salaam.
With no less than fifty-six professional fights, and
seven title fights of various kinds, Ameme is with out a
doubt the most experienced adversary and biggest
challenge for the 22-year-old Horsens-resident so far.
And it is with great respect for his opponent that
Poulsen is preparing for his first fight in his hometown
since he left the amateurs almost three years ago:
“I like this fight, because I know I have to perform
very well to win it”, says Poulsen, and continues: “That
motivates me a lot, and I realize that if I am not
focused he has the power to hurt me. I don’t plan to let
him do that though, but I am not kidding myself; he is a
hard puncher, and he will probably be successful on some
occasions during the fight, so I will have to overcome
those periods in order to come out victorious in the
end”.
Fightnight Horsens, featuring Poulsen vs. Ameme for the
UBO Intercontinental lightweight title, will be promoted
by Risum Boxing in cooperation with Brian Mathiasen
Boxing. The seven-bout card will, among others, also
feature super middleweight Fawaz Nasir (13-3, 8 KOs)
against an opponent still to be decided.
