Oceania commissioner Reginal Leca has confirmed that all
is set for a middleweight clash between Pradeep Singh
(14-1-1) of India and Vanuatu’s Iau Kamisak (9-4-1) for
the UBO International title on June 27 in Suva, Fiji.
The fight will be promoted by Golden Promotions, and is
expected to be very entertaining for the local boxing
fans.
Australia-based Singh is a former OPBF champion, and his
sole defeat was on a disputable disqualification in a
WBO title fight against Ryan Waters last November. At
only 22 years of age, he could be a man of the future in
the talent-jammed 160 Lb. division.
Former Oceania and Vanuatu titlist Kamisak is a ten-year
veteran. His first title fight was at middleweight,
before he won the OBA 154 Lb. crown. Last year he
captured the Vanuatu National title at light
heavyweight, and now he is aiming at winning his third
belt at one-sixty.
A classic matchup between an up-and-comer and a seasoned
campaigner is in store, and while Singh is the
favourite, you can never rule out the experience-factor
clearly in Kamisak’s favour.
