Armenian Mikael Arutyunyan (11-2, 8 KOs) is set to fight for the Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental Featherweight title.

On October 5 at the Singmasnnassak Muaythai School in Pathum Thani, Thailand, the 29-year-old puncher will face former WBC and WBO regional title-challenger Surat Eaim Ong (21-6-1, 15 KOs) for the vacant title.

Arutyunyan has already boxed eleven times in Thailand, where he has captured Thai, Asian Boxing Federation and WBC Asian titles.

His two losses have been questionable majority decisions to the same man, Sukpraserd Ponpitak, who is scheduled to fight former long-reigning IBF world champion Jerwin Ancajas in his next outing.

A former Thai national champion at Bantamweight, Eaim Ong will get his fifth shot at winning a non-domestic title, having come up short twice in WBO regional and twice in WBC regional challenges.

Coming off two fresh victories, he is hoping that he will be successful this time, and enters the fight full of confidence and ambition.

If victorious on October 5, Arutyunyan intends to put his name in the hat for a shot at the UBO world Featherweight title, but Eaim Ong knows that if he can spoil those plans he will be staking his own claim to a crack at world honours.

The fight will be one of the featured bouts of a show promoted by Manop Iamthuam and his Singmasnnassak Boxing.
