Its “sink or swim” time for undefeated Franck Atangana when he takes on Ahmad Samir Dawrani for the Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Continental (Asia) Super Middleweight title on September 14 in Pattaya, Thailand.

Dubai-based Frenchman Atangana is 6-0 (2) since turning pro in April of last year. His first two bouts took place in Dubai, but the upcoming UBO title fight will be his fifth straight in Pattaya.

While he has defeated a couple of respectable foes in Suradet Chomkhamsri (5-1) and recent UBO title-challenger Prachak Porkha (11-5), Thailand-based Afghan Dawrani (10-4-1, 7 KOs) is undoubtedly a level above.

Dawrani entered the paid ranks in 2019, defeating 3-0 Abdulfatah Julaidan in Dubai. After fights in Pakistan and Afghanistan, he relocated to Thailand in 2022 where he has gained a reputation as a tough and capable fighter.

While Atangana will be entering his first professional championship fight, Dawrani has challenged for WBA and WBC regional belts.

Most recently he came up short in a fight for the WBC Asian Silver title, losing a close decision to Ismat Guliyev(15-0) in Bangkok this past May.

Supported by a huge undercard, the fight headlines a show promoted by FCC Promotions at the FCC Forum in Pattaya.
