Some fighters are just ready, and willing, to take a riskier route than what is common practice, and such is the case with Kazakh teenager Timur Bassitov who fights for the Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Continental (Asia) Light Heavyweight title on August 17.

The 19-year-old wonder-boy will fight an opponent to be confirmed on a show promoted by Singmanassak Boxing at the Singmanassak Muaythai School in Pathum Thani, Thailand.

Bassitov only has one professional fight so far, but he showed in his debut last December that he is ready to be moved quickly when he demolished 8-1 Sunil Khokhar from India in the first round.

That fight took place on a big card in his home-country, but Tassimov has since based his career in Thailand, at least for the time being, where opponents and opportunities are plenty.

At his age he has all the time in the world to develop, but he and his team feel it is suitable for him to fight for a championship against a credible opponent already in his second pro outing.

His talent is unquestionable, and if successful on August 17 Bassitov will be looking to defend the title or perhaps add a second UBO title to his resume.
