One of Brazil´s major boxing hopes, Eduardo Gomes, will face Bolivian upsetter Deyvis Rodriguez Flores for the Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Continental (South America) Super Featherweight title on July 6.

The fight, promoted by Extreme Boxe, is the main event of a show at the Centro De Convecoes in the home-town of Gomes, Teresina.

Gomes (3-0, 3 KOs) is already the Interim Brazilian national champion, but is hoping to take a new, major, leap in his career by winning the UBO title in only his fourth pro fight.

And he is facing a man who is making a habit of defeating the favoured fighter, as Brazil-based Rodriguez Flores (4-2-1, 3 KOs) is much better than his modest record suggest.

Already in his third bout he decisioned Leonardo Luiz, who was 7-0 (6) at the time, and in his most recent outing he stopped 13-1-1 Michael Da Silva in two rounds.

Gomes may be the favourite in his home-town, but Rodriguez Flores has by far scored the more significant wins so far, and is expected to do everything he can to cause another upset.
