Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Continental (North America) Super Middleweight champion Immanuwel Aleem is set to make his first title defense on July 20 at the Live Casino & Hotel in Hanover, Maryland.

Aleem (20-3-2, 13 KOs), from Richmond, Virginia, will face Vitalii Gubkin (10-4-1, 7 KOs), fighting out of Alexandria, Virginia, in the main event of another big show promoted by Jeter Promotions.

Nicknamed “The Chosen One”, 30-year-old Aleem won the UBO title when he defeated quality operator Malcolm Jones (17-3, 10 KOs) last February, scoring a fourth round stoppage at the same venue.

In Gubkin (35) he will be facing another tough opponent, and he hopes that another solid win will bring him closer to eventually fulfilling his goal of becoming a world champion.

The challenger turned pro in 2011, but didn't have his second fight until 2019. He is 9-2-1 since 2021, and impressively won the American Boxing Federation Mid America title last year when he stopped undefeated Mansaborie Conde (7-0, 5 KOs) in the fifth round.

That fight also took place at the Live Casino & Hotel in Hanover, and Gubkin entered the ring as the underdog, so he will find himself in a familiar situation on July 20, and has every intention of shocking the favourite again.
