Francisco Gomes and Jampier Oses were originally set to fight for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) World Featherweight title on April 20 in Gondomar, Portugal.

But the day before the fight, the wife of Gomes went into early labour and the local man was understandably pulled out, unable to make weight and focus on the biggest fight of his life.

Gomes is now the proud father of a baby-girl, and the fight is back on, confirmed for June 29 at the Pavilhao Municipal Da Biquinha in Matosinhos.

Originally from Angola, Gomes (7-0, 2 KOs) has boxed out of Portugal since his professional debut in 2021. He is a former WBU champion, a title he won in December of 2022.

26-year-old Venezuelan Oses (21-11-1, 14 KOs) is his best opponent to date, a winner in three of his last four bouts, and has been waiting patiently in Portugal since the postponement in April.

Matosinhos Fight Night 2024, headlined by Gomes vs, Oses for the UBO world Featherweight title, is presented by Arena de Matosinhos and Cesar Moreira.
