Undefeated Tamas Kiliti from Hungary is the new Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Inter-Continental Lightweight champion.

On Saturday night at the Alba Regia Sporthall in his home-town Szekesfehervar, the 28-year-old passed his biggest test to date when he defeated inspired Argentinian Miguel Cesario “El Gato” Antin for the vacant title.

It was at times a gruelling contest where the boxers decided to go toe-to-toe, trading punches from all angles and thoroughly entertaining the crowd.

Antin, a former WBC Latino titlist, had certainly travelled to Hungary with intentions to win, despite missing weight and the title only being on the line for the local man.

Kiliti found himself in deep waters at times, but also proved that he has what it takes to compete at a higher level than he has in the past, and was successful in countering his aggressive opponent.

After ten fast-paced rounds with back-and-forth action, judges Bence Kovacs, Bulcsu Gabris and Tamas Sasvari all scored the fight 77-75, making Kiliti the winner by close but unanimous decision.

The new UBO champion took his unblemished record to 10-0 (6), while Antin felt hard done by as he drops to a misleading 20-15-1 (8).
