A very interesting fight for the Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Continental (Europe) Light Heavyweight title has been confirmed for June 8 at the Sono in Brno, Czech Republic.

Southpaw puncher Michal Ryba (20-11-1, 16 KOs) takes on German champion Edison Demaj (12-2-1, 6 KOs) for the vacant title.

If victorious, Ryba (30), a former East Europe, International and Inter-Continental titlist, will be the first boxer ever to win four different UBO titles.

Ryba last fought on April 13 when he was on the wrong end of a disputed split decision for the World Boxing Federation (WBF) Intercontinental title against 25-2 Oscar Ahlin in Sweden.

Less than two months later he will face another tough opponent in Demaj (31), who is born in Albania but fighting outside his adopted home-country of Germany for the first time as a pro against Ryba.

Demaj became German champion last October when he defeated Dustin Ammann, and he is now ready for his first non-domestic championship fight.

Promoted by former European and world champion Lukas Konecny, the winner could find himself close to a shot at the UBO world Light Heavyweight title, so a lot is at stake.
