Former Italian champion Ivan “Il Terribile” D´Adamo will fight Dominican Miguel Marte Rodriguez for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) International Heavyweight title on May 18 at the Palazzetto Dello Sport in Anagni, Italy.

D´Adamo (9-3-1, 6 KOs) won the Italian title in 2021, stopping Eduardo Giustini, who went on to win the UBO Continental (Europe) title the following year.

He made one successful defense, before losing the national title in a rematch with Giustini in April of 2022. Last summer he returned with a victory, and is now ready to attempt to become a champion again.

His opponent, Miguel Marte Rodriguez (6-1, 5 KOs), had a rough start when he made his pro debut in May of 2021, getting stopped in three rounds by fellow first-timer Dennis Ventura.

But he has since been convincing with six straight wins, five of them inside the distance, albeit against limited opposition.

This will be Rodriguez first championship fight, and first time fighting outside the Dominican Republic, so while he is potentially “a banana-skin” for D´Adamo, he will likely find himself in situations where he has to deal with things he has not experienced before.

The D´Adamo vs. Rodrigues UBO International Heavyweight title fight is the main event of a show promoted by New Boxe Anagni.
