When Brazilian Heavyweight-hope Matheus “Campinas” Munoz (6-0-1, 2 KOs) fights for the vacant Universal Boxing Organization™ (UBO) Continental (South America) title on April 6 in Sao Paolo, he will have a major obstacle in his way.

Venezuelan Luis Jose “El Expreso” Marin Garcia (14-6, 9 KOs) is more than a solid challenge for the local boxer. He is only a slight, and very live underdog coming to spoil the party for Munhoz.

In his most recent outing Munhoz impressively defeated experienced former Venezuelan Cruiserweight champion Williams Ocando in two rounds, but Marin Garcia is a significant step up.

While he has lost six times, only former UBO International titlist Nelson Hysa has managed to beat him emphatically, and trips to Germany and Japan ended in competitive decision defeats to undefeated prospects Granit Shala and Mitsuru Tajima.

Following the loss to Hysa, Marin Garcia returned to Germany last February and scored a unanimous decision over another undefeated prospect in Ali Dakroub, proving that he always comes to win.

Munhoz has shown great promise since drawing in his pro debut, but Marin Garcia is without a doubt going to be his biggest test to date.

Matheus Munhoz vs. Luis Jose Marin Garcia for the UBO Continental (South America) Heavyweight title on April 6 takes place at the Expo Center Norte in Sao Paolo, as part of the 2024 Arnold Sports Festival.
